Blood pressure is comprised of two measurements, including systolic and diastolic pressure. Up until recently the rating for normal pressure, was a standard of 120 (systolic) over 80 (diastolic). Like most things, it has changed over time and now the American Heart Association (AHA) has deemed that a reading of less than 120, and less than 80, were more appropriate, due to research over a longer period of time.
